Troupe Texas
Troupe Texas was founded in 1990 as a stage production ensemble in Austin, TX. In the early and mid-90s, the group produced new works by contemporary and emerging writers such as Jennifer Hailey and Harley Erdman, classic writers such as Shakespeare and Lope de Vega, and modern writers such as Bertolt Brecht. The  energetic and innovative production style won the hearts of Austin critics, and awards at the Chamizal International Festival. Now in its third generation of company members, Troupe Texas is sponsored by the Tri-M Foundation, a tax exempt, not-for-profit Texas corporation, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization.

Current economic and fund-raising conditions have delayed further seasonal planning.
Stay tuned to find out what Troupe
Texas is cooking up next!
We'll schedule individual productions as we find new scripts and the funding to support production.

Thanks to your patronage, our Winter-Spring presentations of The Christmas Story Collection and Jerry Finnegan's Sister and our Summer 2011 Shakespeare workshop were successful in attracting appreciative audiences.

William Shakespeare

Summer 2011

On August 5th, we completed a successful adaptation workshop with the presentation of three plays by Othello and Cymbeline by Shakespeare and The Two Noble Kinsmen by Shakespeare and Fletcher; during the month of July, students studied and adapted these three plays into 40-minute versions presented as staged readings.
