About Us—
Troupe Texas
... is an ensemble of writers, actors, directors, designers, technicians, and producers who are committed to bringing dramatic texts to life.
Our concepts and our productions are driven by the ideas, characters, and stories created by writers for audiences. We concentrate on th

e live interchange between characters who have stories that they must tell audiences; rather than trying to replicate the visual realism that movies can do so well, we provoke the imagination of the audience.
Troupe Texas' robust, physical style depends on performers who are equally trained in classics and contemporary theatre, are well-versed in literature, the spoken word, and music, and are comfortable as they relate stories to and interact with audiences of different ages, cultures, and ethnicities. Most of all, we expect our company members and our audiences to enjoy—to laugh, to have fun, and to cry at—our performances.
Founded in 1990 in Austin, Texas, Troupe Texas joined with the Tri-M Foundation in 2005 as the stage and motion-picture production unit of the Foundation. With this alliance, Troupe Texas can focus on the creative and production aspects while the Foundation oversees the fund-raising and corporate management functions.
We produce new scripts as well as adaptations and translations of classics. We happily consider scripts and proposals submitted by writers, directors, or other professionals for production by Troupe Texas.
