Daniel Shay, Technical Director for Troupe Texas, is beginning his professional career as Troupe Texas' Technical Director.


Currently a junior at Texas State University, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with dual majors in Physics and Theatre; his theatre emphasis is in stage lighting.  Daniel works on campus as a technician at Evans Auditorium, which presents  touring shows as well as concerts and operas produced by  the School of Music.  He also works as Technology Coordinator for the University Honors Program.  In the Theatre Department, he as served several productions as  light board operator, projections operator, and stage hand. Last summer, he served as Technical Director for Shakespeare's plays Merchant of Venice, Taming of the Shrew, and Richard II presented in conjunction with the Presenting Earlier Shakespeare course, as well as acting the role of Bassanio in Merchant of Venice.

Before entering Texas State as a Terry Scholar, he graduated as Salutatorian from Refugio High School where he worked as Auditorium Technician; his high school emphasis was in Computer Science.
